Deep South Brass 8
We are pleased to have the return of Deep South Brass 8 who was a great hit with the ausience when they appeared last September. They are a high energy, New Orleans influenced band and play a mix of jazz/funk/blues originals and popular covers. Inspired by the contemporary brass bands of New Orleans, DSB8 plays an infectious mix of originals and popular charts. With nods to The Big Easy's luminaries of Trombone Shorty, Jon Cleary, Dr John, and the Rebirth Brass Band, Deep South Brass 8's big bold brass also brings a few surprise interpretations of some old favourites. Last year’s line-up was Neil Gracey: trumpet/trombone/band leader, Matt Dixon: trombone/vocals, Mark Sylvio: trumpet/vocals, Sean Nihill: trumpet/composer, Justin Abicare: alto sax/flute, Jim Glasson: tenor & baritone sax, Andrew Murray: keyboard and Roy John: drums. You will need to think about booking for this great group.
