Ladies be Good! were formed in 2014 and bring a great fun vibe whenever they perform.  With Jan Blake’s fantastic vocals supported by some of Melbourne’s best ladies you will really love being part of the Ladies be Good! Experience. A lovely group of friends who wanted to get together, perform and be different from all the other bands playing - a strong front line of ladies sharing beautiful music with  lovely  musical  interpretations. Performing in the band are Jan Blake  – Vocals, Ann Craig – Flute, Ashley Thomas – Reeds,(Alto, Baritone Sax & Clarinet), Lisette  Payet – Piano, Holly Brick – Bass and Sue Haylock – drums and they promise to be good - ha ha!!!

Todd Sidney All Stars

We look forward to the return of Todd Sidney and his All Stars  performing in July. This is where Sarah Maclaine comes to Phillip Island Jazz Club, sits down for the afternoon to enjoy the music and have a relaxing day off. Playing with Todd will be Dean Addison on bass, Dean Cooper on drums, and Gianni Marinucci on trumpet. Todd is a top line pianist and he certainly selected these musos to accompany him that are worthy of the name All Stars. Their experience and skill is undisputed.

Graeme Pender Grenadilla Wood

Picture

The name of the band Grenadilla Wood comes from the “Grenadilla Wood (Dalbergia Melanoxylon) from Mozambique. This type of wood has been used since the end of the 19th  century the beginning of the 20th century, and is quite possibly the most  popular wood used in the making of clarinets. Last year Ashton Vas played the  clarinet and boy was he great and we are hoping that Ashton will play the clarinet in August for a couple of tunes.
Performing in Grendilla Wood this year will Graeme Pender on clarinet, Frank Carter on trombone, Peter McIntyre on sousaphone and Graham Michel on drums. and we all remember the very talented Ashton Vaz who played on piano a well as clarinet and yes it will be great to see Aston performing once again.. The name of the banjo player to be advised.
